First drag one of the tabs you want to view on the side, out of the main browser window where you might have multiple tabs open, so you have two browser windows now. 

Then drag the pulled out second window towards the extreme right until you see a shaded vertical split on the screen, then release it. You should now have two browser windows tiled vertically side by side. If you have more then two windows open, choose the one you want to view side by side. later either you can close the second window or merge it back to the main window by dragging it to the main again.

This worked on Edge. But should work on Chrome too.
