Getting the following error while trying to send an email from apex:

System.EmailException: SendEmail failed. First exception on row 0; first error: NO_MASS_MAIL_PERMISSION, Single email is not enabled for your organization or profile

Check the Deliverability settings under Setup > Email Administration > Deliverability.

I had to change the Access level from System Emails only to All Email.
